Hi Kathleen,
Thanks for the book. I hadn't read anything by Susan before. I rather enjoyed it and have reviewed it on my blog, Was the perfect foil to recovering from H1N1. Got the blood moving. My daughter tried to pick it up to read, but she's only 13 so I had to snatch it back from her. Will be loaning this out to my sister and another friend or two. Its my 6th read for the Canadian Book Challenge.

not too sure about this one. I don't find the bad scenes that memorable so I don't remember them. I posted this on the 'BookBlog.com' to the Canadian blogger group, so perhaps they'll come up with something.

I have only read #16 Michael Tolliver Lives. If it is typical of this genre, then the rest of the books must also be amazing. I loved that book. I laughed and cried almost at the same time.

"One Native Life' by Richard Wagamese

St. Catharines, Ontario

could either be at the main branch of the public library or at the carousel in nearby Port Dalhousie. Mr. Wagamese talks several times about the time he spent at the library when he lived there, reading books and listening to lots of type of music. I also suggest the Carousel, as anyone who has been to see it and take a ride remembers it for a long time.

I know I'm against entry fees for writing contests (for individuals), but I haven't given this any thought. To be honest, I didn't know there was an entry fee for the Giller and so on. I'm not that up on the business side of these things. You make some good points, but I think I'm still opposed to it. Though I do like the Leacock and Quebec Writers Federation mandate to donate the books to local libraries. Good for them.

I honestly think that writing in a lounge chair, by any sort of fire with dogs underfoot would be my ultimate choice for writing. I'm just missing the fire place/stove thing, that's the only reason I have never finished anything. ;) Got the chair and dogs covered!
